Another VK QRSS signal received
At around 7am local time, on the 19th Feb., I had good reception of Alan’s, VK2ZAY, QRSS transmitter. Also on the screen was a weak triangular waveform that I had seen before when receiving Alan’s signal. After asking for identification of this trace on the QRSS Knights e-mail list I was informed it was from John, VK6JY, in Albany Western Australia (thanks to Ted, AA5CK and John,VK6JY for the e-mails). The transmitter is 250mW into a low half-wave dipole. John provided his grid square and this revealed the distance from transmitter to receiver was 11,435 miles. That is a long way for 250mW and explains the weak trace.
Receiver was the Elecraft K3 and the antenna was a 90ft doublet.
